Hiyoku Mochi is renowned glutinous rice in Kyushu area, the southern part of Japan.

Its name "Hiyoku' refers to fertile land that Kyushu area is blessed with.

It's amazingly fluffy, perfect for making Mochi Sticky cakes, Okowa ( sticky rice mixed with all kinds of vegetables or meat), and also Sekihan ( sticky rice steamed with azuki beans)
